A Proposal of a Conceptual Framework for Corporate Governance Research

Objective: This paper aims at presenting and discussing a conceptual framework for corporate governance research. Method: The structure adopted this derives from our analysis of some the existing frameworks governance, which, despite their strengths, still fail to achieve consensus establish shared structure. Originality/Relevance: It is understanding, therefore, that original proposed in more structured comprehensive regarding current literature than previous frameworks. Results: starts classic division between internal external environment variables then divides into three dimensions: (i) structural (principal-principal relations); (ii) operational (principal-agent (iii) behavioral (interpersonal relations). All these categories contain extremely relevant discussions enable researchers view as an integrated whole. Theoretical/Methodological contributions: Under academic perspective, consolidates knowledge produced within field way facilitates harmonious understanding its different facets. Social/management Professionals regulators can use have mechanisms, assisting decisions elaboration policies recommendations.
